SEO Content Solutions
How this company began: My first freelancing pursuit after leaving corporate America involved developing inexpensive websites for companies and non-profits. After building a few sites, I realized that every single project was held up waiting for the company to send their content. Some companies actually paid for a website, had it developed, and then never sent their content!
With a bachelor’s degree in Writing and a background in sales, writing sales copy was a logical way for me to fill this void. After creating about 8 websites, I shut that business down, focused solely on copywriting, and started SEO Content Solutions.
This is a perfect example of finding a niche quite accidentally by being aware of a missing piece in the market place.
In my post How I Made $100,000 By Spending 25 Minutes and $0 on Marketing, I talk about how I came to serve the niche of offering rebrandable copywriting solutions for SEO companies.
Listen to a podcast interview and read a press release to learn more about SEO Content Solutions (formerly called “Website Promotion Today”) .
My College Fundraising
How this company began: The one thing that all of my businesses have in common, is that they are all based around helping other people earn money in a way that is FUN. My College Fundraising began as an idea about 13 years ago but was launched in 2007. When I first had the idea, I didn’t have the confidence to build a business.
It wasn’t until I left corporate America, took control of my time, built my own successful business, and learned more about online marketing that I finally felt I was in a position to launch this.
I absolutely loved my college days and I’m excited to be working with colleges again and helping them raise money using a method that is FUN!
Online Visibility Toolbox
How this company began: I started reselling hosting back when I was building websites. I found that I was constantly telling people to buy this kind of hosting or that kind of hosting so it just made sense to offer my own affordable hosting!
Because hosting is such a competitive market and would cost mega-bucks to promote through search engines or traditional advertising, I chose several niche domains that point to my hosting site. By focusing on small niches and adding value through published tutorials, I can find a place in a big, competitive industry.
Even though I don’t promote this business too much, I have continued to earn back my yearly reseller investment many times over each year. If you’re interested in reselling hosting yourself, contact me. If not, consider www.simplebloghosting.com for your domain, hosting, and online marketing needs!
