How to Write a Press Release(BTW - it’s free!) Since launching our press release submission site, Tara and I have learned something truly important - many people are making some major mistakes when it come to writing and submitting press releases! To help others learn to write more effective press releases, we put together this free downloadable guide to writing press releases.

The book highlights the 7 deadly mistakes we see in a surprising majority of the press releases submitted. With just a few little tweaks, most of the press releases we receive could be transformed from so-so, to great! It doesn’t just cover the writing of search engine optimized press releases, but how to submit them so that they look great online.

This e-book is a quick and easy read, filled with lots of graphics and no B.S. tips for writing and submitting better press releases.

How to write and submit press releases online

Why Is It Free?

A few reasons:

#1: Because, I’m more concerned about giving you the tools you need to write better press releases than I am about making money off of this. Times are tough for a lot of people right now and submitting press releases online is a great, low cost way to get the word out about your news and to build quality backlinks to your site that ultimately help it rank higher in the search engines.

#2: Online PR News is a new site, and we want more people to know about it! Our goal over the next few years is to make this the best and most affordable damn press release submission site online - a site that truly connects people with news to share with those looking for new things to talk about. If you find the ebook useful and you’d like to share it with others, feel free to direct others to Online PR News where anyone can take their free copy.

To download your free copy of the press release writing e-book, just head over to Online PR News and you’ll see the download link right on the homepage.

You guys are awesome! I’ve been trying to increase my company’s profile on the web with limited success. I’ve just starting to do some press releases but now have a much better understanding of not only what makes a great press release but how to make it work for me!

Your press release submission website makes it so easy to get this out there and believe me, the added benefits you get for $6 are well worth it!

Thanks for helping me!

Wow John! I’m so happy to hear this helped you! Maybe I’m kinda nerdy… but I think press release writing is a lot of fun! It’s one of my favorite types of marketing pieces to write.

Wishing you all the best in your online (ad)ventures

:D Christine

I guess the secrets for your famous press releases aren’t so secretive now huh?

You girls are so right. I’ve encountered several people starting their own business, and even existing businesses that need viral and social marketing, but can’t afford it and don’t know where to begin. This is really the perfect solution for them!

It’s quick, easy to read, and everything is right there! I really like the way you girls not only explained what the mistake was, but why it’s a mistake, how to fix it, and even give clear examples of the right/wrong things to do.

I have seen first hand how well your techniques work, so this ebook really is a goldmine! There of a few others I know will benefit greatly from your gift, so I will certainly be sending them this way.

Thanks you two. This is a very timely gift!

I’ve written press releases for clients, but have always avoided writing them for myself–reading through this ebook though has me really motivated to give it a try for promoting what I’m up to. And your final tip is one I never would have thought of (aside from the online press room)! Thank you so much for making this available.

Sweet! I have a few clients who have been asking me to write press releases for them. Frankly, I wasn’t confident about it, so I’ve been putting them off. Not anymore, though. Your book is one of the easiest guides I’ve seen (fun to read, too!). Thanks a lot, guys. I’m going to the ground running with this. :)

Your personal story is inspirational. This blog topic is a useful one for so many people. Your generosity will enable people to avoid undesirable loopholes. As you encourage and help others, you are also empowering yourself. Selfless service is meaningful in ways that are immeasurable.

By trade I’m a web designer/developer and seo. Writing is not one of my strengths but as I get deeper into providing seo services it is something that is becoming a necessity. Thanks for posting the press release guide, it’s going to help me out loads.

Keep up the good work,
Andy

In the big company where I work I have tried so many times to optimize the PR messages we send out. But due to churn and forgetting the content of the training, we still do not have the completely optimized PR messages.
A big thank you for the efforts of putting this comprehensive document together and making it free available.
I love it!
Cheers

Dennis

One of the key things to consider when composing a press release is that you’re writing for journalists. Make certain your release is newsworthy! Journalists won’t read it if it doesn’t straight away catch their eye, so a good descriptive headline can go a long way.
